The ALUTO is Factor's take on the do-it-all gravel bike - a focus on responsiveness and agility over smoothness and stability. The ALUTO prioritizes sharp handling, a lowered center of gravity, and a carbon layup tuned for aggressive riding over mixed surfaces - stiff and compliant in all the right ways. Race-focused geo keeps it fast and snappy, and 52mm of tire clearance up front, and 47mm out back give it range and speed. It’s a pocketknife with a razor's edge — versatile, sharp, and dependable.

Who the ALUTO is for

The ALUTO is for the rider who wants the perfect balance of liveliness and versatility. Stiff in the sprint, and compliant in the rough stuff, the Aluto is for mixed-surface riding where precision handling and agility over long distances and varied terrain is the goal. With a frame geometry that prioritizes rider input and feedback, the ALUTO trades smoothness for responsiveness, and rewards an aggressive rider position with speed and snap. Don’t get it confused - this isn’t a relaxed ride. Factor’s racing focus is still at the ALUTO’s core.

KEY FEATURES

Geometry

The ALUTO's geometry is doing something specific and considered. Factor engineered it around a 45mm tire — not as a target for maximum clearance, but as the sweet spot where handling stays sharp and the bike still goes long. The bottom bracket sits lower than the Ostro Gravel's to keep the center of gravity grounded on terrain that changes underfoot. Chainstays are short. The head angle is steep by gravel bike standards. The result is a bike that responds immediately and corners eagerly. Stack is slightly higher than the Ostro Gravel, which opens the fit to a wider range of riders, but stays squarely at the “racey” end of the fit spectrum.

Tuned Carbon Layup

The ALUTO's tube shaping draws clearly from Factor's road bikes. The top tube borrows a horizontal D-profile from the O2 VAM, narrowing before the seat tube to allow the seatpost to flex fore-and-aft — a subtle, functional detail that compounds over hours in the saddle. The downtube and head tube carry aero shaping, while the seat stays slim down for vibration compliance. This is not a frame built stiff everywhere and padded nowhere. The carbon layup is calibrated: stiff where pedaling demands it, forgiving where terrain requires it.

Downtube Storage & Cockpit

The ALUTO is Factor's first gravel bike with a downtube storage hatch — a detail that matters more than it initially sounds. Carrying tubes, CO2, and a patch kit inside the frame eliminates the need for a saddle bag or bar bag, both of which create meaningful aerodynamic drag. For a bike that's going to be ridden at speed over long distances, that's not a cosmetic decision. The Black Inc HB05 integrated bar/stem is purpose-built for the ALUTO, with a shorter reach to offset the increased hood length of modern shifters, and a mild flare in the drops.

Factor Aluto Standard Package FAQS

What is the Factor ALUTO?

A gravel bike optimized for mixed-surface riding — sharp geometry, carbon frame, road-like handling, and high-volume tire clearance.

How does the ALUTO differ from the Ostro Gravel?

The ALUTO trades the Ostro's aero focus for broader fit, downtube storage, higher stack, and a ride feel tuned for longer, more rough terrain.

What tire sizes fit the Factor ALUTO?

Up to 52mm in the front and 47mm in the rear on 700c wheels. Geometry is optimized around a 45mm tire.

Is the ALUTO compatible with a dropper post?

Yes. The 27.2mm round seatpost and external clamp are dropper-post compatible.

What builds is the ALUTO available in?

Frameset, SRAM Force XPLR AXS, and SRAM Red XPLR AXS. Electronic drivetrains only — no mechanical compatibility.

Is the Factor ALUTO available at Métier in Seattle?

Yes. The Factor ALUTO is available at Métier in Seattle in frameset and complete build configurations.

Why the Factor ALUTO

Factor builds bikes that have a point of view — each one positioned clearly. The ALUTO is the brand's most accessible expression of that: a gravel bike with Factor's handling precision and carbon quality, without the hyper-specific race demands of the Ostro Gravel. For Seattle riders, a single route can shift from wet pavement to packed gravel to single track inside twenty miles - a bike that's equally committed to all of it matters. The ALUTO is that bike.
