New Bike Sizing Session

Who our New Bike Sizing Session is for

This is for the rider still upstream of the build: choosing between frame sizes, comparing geometries, selecting a custom frame, or deciding whether the stock cockpit actually belongs on the bike. It is for the rider who wants the bike to arrive closer to finished, with the crank length, bar width, stem length, saddle choice, and frame size already sorted.

New Bike Sizing is for getting the bike right before the parts are ordered - the secret to new bike perfection.

KEY FEATURES

Frame size and geo before you buy

The wrong size bike is an expensive mistake. New Bike Sizing gives you fit data before the purchase, helping you choose the right stock frame size or define the geometry targets for a custom frame. Instead of guessing from a size chart that assumes you and every rider are the same, we use your unique riding goals, mobility, and position requirements to determine what the new bike actually needs.

Component sizing that matches you

A frame is only part of the fit. Crank length, bar width, stem length, number of stem spacers, saddle shape, width, setback, and fore-aft position all shape how the bike feels under load. This session right-sizes the full contact-point system so your new bike is built around your body and riding style from the first build sheet.

Fully adjustable fit bike

Using Métier’s fully adjustable fit bike, we “build” your future bike in the studio before it exists. This allows us to test geometry, position, and component decisions in a controlled fit environment, then capture the measurements in a detailed report you can use for your build, whether you purchase the bike through Métier or elsewhere.

Notes from your Fitter

Please wear cycling kit or close-fitting clothing to your session for the most accurate assessment.

We can size you for any brand of frame manufacturer, and can accommodate both stock frame sizes and custom frame geometry.

New Bike Sizing Session follow ups are complimentary if you buy your new bike through us. They are an additional $75-$125 if you buy/build your new bike elsewhere.

New Bike Sizing Session FAQS

What is a New Bike Sizing Session?

A New Bike Sizing Session is a bike fit designed to help you choose the correct frame size, geometry, and component specifications before buying or building a new bike.

Do I need to already own the bike?

No. For New Bike Sizing, Métier uses a fully adjustable fit bike to simulate your future bike and it’s components before it arrives.

What parts are included in the sizing recommendations?

The session helps determine frame size, bar width, stem length, stem spacers, crank length, seatpost setback, saddle width, height, fore-aft positioning, and related fit measurements for the new build.

Is this for custom bikes or stock bikes?

Both. The session can help define custom geometry targets or guide you toward the correct stock frame size and component setup for any bicycle brand.

Is this the right service if I already bought a bike?

No. This session is designed for riders planning a new bike purchase or build. If you already own the bike and want to adjust your position, our Essential or Signature bike fit is what you are looking for.

Is the final fit check included?

The final fit check is complimentary when you buy your new bike through Métier. If you buy the bike elsewhere, the final fit check is an additional $75–$125, with additional monthly fees for final adjustments scheduled more than 60 days after the initial fit.

Why our Sizing Session matters

Leaving your new bike’s spec up to the manufacturer is a costly choice when you find the bars are too wide, the stem is too short, the saddle isn’t wide enough, and the cranks are too long.

Our New Bike Sizing turns a high-stakes purchase into a measured decision: frame, cockpit, crank, saddle, and final position all considered as one system.

For riders investing in a new road, gravel, mountain, triathlon, or TT bike, this is the fit-first way to build.
